April 2008 Events and Classes
Come join us at Knitting Night at O'Grady's Pantry (Sleeping Lady Mountain Retreat) THIS Thursday evening 6:30-9pm. This is an informal gathering to just to relax and work in the company of other needleworkers. No fees, just good fun! We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month, everyone welcome.
Learn to Knit
Never knit before? Or learned so long ago you can’t remember? Here’s a beginner course just for you. You’ll learn the basics: a little about yarn, casting on and off, knitting and purling. Good patterns for a first project will be discussed. No previous experience required. Bring a skein of light colored worsted weight yarn and size 7 or 8 needles.

Maximum: 4 students Instructor fee: $20 (1 session workshop)
Lace Knitting
It’s time to move onto yarnovers, decreases and above all reading charts. Using an Evelyn Clark design for dishcloths we will work on lace knitting techniques. Prerequisite: Basic knitting skills (knit, purl, cast on, cast off). Bring Bathing Beauties pattern by Fiber Trends, a skein of fingering weight cotton yarn, size 4 needles, 2 stitch markers, 1 safety pin or split ring marker and an adventurous spirit and we will begin knitting lace .

Continental Knitting
Teaching throwers to pick. Know how to knit American-style (throwing or right hand carry) but want to learn the faster Continental method (picking or left-hand carry)? At this Technique Tuesday we’ll show you how to knit and purl the "other " way, comfortably and efficiently. Prerequisite: Basic knitting skills (knit, purl, cast on, cast off). Bring a skein of your favorite yarn and appropriate needles for the yarn weight.

Spring Sweater Project - More details to come, but for now know this sweater will feature some of our new just right for spring and/or summer cotton yarns. Watch for more details next week or call the store and let us know of your interest.

Purchased class supplies receive a 10% discount. Quick questions and simple how-to’s are always available during regular store hours.
Community Knitting Opportunity:
Chemo Hats for the Wenatchee Valley Clinic
For the next three months we will be collecting hats for both women and men to be given to the Oncology Department at the Wenatchee Valley Clinic. If you would like to knit and donate hats for this cause please bring your finished extremely soft yarn hats to Wooly Bully Yarns by June 30, 2008. We would love to put them on display if you get finished early. Just bring them in! We will also be offering a 10% discount off yarn destined for this project.
